Cathie Barton

c_barton_photoCathie Barton moved to Issues Management in Public Affairs in 2011.  In her current assignment, she manages a variety of issues that arise from stakeholder concerns that could impact brand and technology acceptance in the marketplace.   Examples include acceptance of synthetic biology and nanotechnology, and concerns about health and environmental impact related to safety incidents, manufacturing sites or product use.

Barton worked with two engineering and environmental consulting firms prior to joining DuPont Engineering in 1989.  There, she spent 22 years doing environmental consulting work for DuPont including multimedia field assessment work, treatment design, air dispersion modeling and chemical and nano-material risk assessment.

Cathie holds a M.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from University of Delaware
