Gwen Howard

G_Happ_photoGwen Howard is an Issues, Collaboration and Engagement manager for Colorado Springs Utilities. She has over 20 years of experience building effective strategies in issues, communication, stakeholder engagement and facilitation for the organization and the community. She is responsible for developing and implementing strong engagement programs for large electric and water projects and planning processes and has played a key role in the placement of long term water and diverse energy portfolio strategies.

Prior to Howard’s current role, she was Leadership Development Supervisor designing, developing and facilitating personal, professional and leadership training opportunities for the organization, in addition to teaching and facilitating team building and development.

Howard’s passion for people and processes extends to her work serving on many nonprofit boards where she’s volunteered countless hours participating in company and fundraising activities. She’s also dedicated her time in developing and implementing organizational strategies and direction to help nonprofits enhance and extend their effectiveness.

Howard’s collective experience and passion for people and meaningful dialogue along with her skills in leadership, organization and project management, nonprofit structures and processes, and team dynamics and effectiveness give her a dynamic platform when helping organizations and government leaders navigate difficult and rewarding political and professional relationships.

Howard is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration and Colorado Christian University with a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
